This weekend, catch Ole Miss at home in a three day, head-to-head event as they face off against Long Beach State. The series starts Friday, March 1st at 6:30 pm. Saturday’s game starts at 1:30 pm, and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
Ole Miss kicked off their season on Friday, February 15th at the beloved Swayze Field, crushing Wright State 10-1 and bringing their opening day win record to 18-1. It was a strong showing from the team that won the SEC tournament in 2018, but were quickly eliminated from the NCAA national tournament.
In last year’s matchup, the Rebels (now known as the Landsharks) fell to Long Beach in the first game (3-4), but picked up wins on Saturday and Sunday. We’ll see if they can take all three this weekend.
But no matter what happens, those in attendance are guaranteed a weekend of great fun and fellowship. Swayze Field has been an epicenter for Deep South baseball for over 30 years – drawing large crowds of dedicated fans that often rival the numbers of other Ole Miss athletic programs (aside from football, of course). The stadium is well known for its electric atmosphere, raucous right field student section, and customary game-day traditions like the home run beer shower.
More recently, Swayze Field was updated to include new amenities for players and fans alike, such as a new locker room, equipment room, nutrition center, additional seating, club levels, and a rooftop plaza.
General admission tickets are $5 and can be purchased online.
